I followed remmak's suggestion about the turian's neck being too thick, but I couldn't motivate myself enough to add in some more details. Bioware is accepting submissions for a fan art showcase at SDCC (deadline is July 15th), and I thought to freshen up a bit my two Mass Effect images and submit them.

I was itching for a dynamic piece, and to try out a new technique I'm trying to get comfortable with. It involves switching between low and high opacity brushes, and use of the lasso tool to achieve stark outlines. I suppose I'm a little jealous of the strong bold style common among guys in concept art circles. :p

I've been doing these small ballpoint pen sketches lately, mostly based on photos. They're very small (on A6 size paper each), and ironically enough, I do them to rest my eyes from working too many hours in front of a screen. The frequent change of focus from reference (on screen, actually) to paper does help, though.
